Flagrant Foul by Jesse H. Reign (Totally Pucked #3)

TITLE: ⟫ Flagrant Foul
AUTHOR: ⟫ Jesse H. Reign

SERIES: ⟫ Totally Pucked #3
RATING: ⟫ 5/5

BLURB: ⟫ He’s my brother’s best friend. I’m the annoying kid who followed him everywhere.

Now we’re playing for the same team.

Sev Delorean is an NHL D-man with an excess of swagger and stickhandling techniques that made him world famous. He’s the bane of my existence and my reason for living.

He’s strictly off limits though. My brother has made that perfectly clear.

I can’t have him, but I can obsess over him.

REVIEW: ⟫ My absolute favourite part of this (apart from Mae) was that Teddy understood. This book was by turns aggravating, confusing, inspiring and beautiful – very much like the relationship between Sev and Teddy! It always surprises me how Jesse H. Reign manages to have such different characters in each story and yet inspire such adoration and love from me for these people – and seeing people popping up from previous stories is like seeing old friends again.

I adored this book – Teddy was out of his mind, but Sev wasn’t far behind – and his chaos was fabulous to watch. I would kill to see a video of Teddy dancing in the goal and Sev’s response – it sounds freaking brilliant! Actually, I lied – my favourite part was Sev’s response to Teddy being knocked into the goalpost and his reply to his manager – I cackled so hard reading what he said!

Yeah, my love for Jesse H Reign continues unabated and I cannot wait to see what’s going to happen to Nate!

The Legend Next Door by Jesse H Reign (Totally Pucked #2)

TITLE: ⟫ The Legend Next Door
AUTHOR: ⟫ Jesse H Reign

SERIES: ⟫Totally Pucked #2
RATING:
⟫ 4.5/5

BLURB: ⟫ I didn’t think hockey was the game for me…now I’m obsessed.

My new neighbor, Ben Stirling, is a beautiful, famous ex-player. A living NHL legend. A single dad with sad eyes and a smile I feel in my knees.

I’ve never met anyone like him. He’s what would you’d get if you squeezed masculinity through a sieve. He’s the grit. The pulp. The hard stuff that leaves a sweet taste in your mouth. On top of that, he’s kind and funny, and did I mention he’s the most beautiful man I’ve ever laid eyes on?

Obviously, he’s straight.

And obviously, that’s fine.

It’s not like I’m going to flirt with him. Or fall for him.

REVIEW: ⟫ Okay, so as soon as I saw that Jesse H Reign had a new book out, I bumped it up my TBR pile and I am so glad that I did. I was wondering how this was going to go, with a widower who has a young son and a younger man who seemed more than a little easy-going in terms of what he wanted from life.

However, I should have trusted in Jesse – and from the first page, I totally did! Ben just about broke my heart in the first few chapters – the pain, loss and anguish he was feeling came through so clearly that I was almost in tears. Luca was an absolute delight and he reminded me of my nieces and nephews at his age – it’s so nice when an author writes a child as a child rather than a young adult. The bond between Luca and Ben was incredibly touching and he was an amazing father.

Then we have Jeremiah – or Jelly as he is affectionately called. There isn’t a thought in this man’s head that he doesn’t spill out of his mouth, or worse. Jelly was absolutely delightful – from his self-pep talks, his affection for Luca, and his absolute adoration of Ben. The whole ‘biggest fan’ made me giggle far too often, and I loved when Jelly was forcing Moop to watch Hockey as a zealous new convert.

The bi-awakening was underplayed, which I appreciated – this wasn’t so much about Ben discovering that he liked men as well as women. It was more about him recovering from the loss of his wife, realising that he can find love again, and being open to whatever form that took. The two of them together were really beautiful – I really loved how Jelly encouraged Ben to talk about anything and everything – especially silly things. And the way that they reacted to each other – I’m actually thinking of a scene where they’re not even in the same house that was incredibly sexy and touching at the same time.

We had a small cameo with our duo from ‘Poetry on Ice’ which reminded me of just how much I loved reading them. But this book – this book was all about Ben, Jelly and Luca making a new ‘three person’ unit, and I am here for it. Big up supportive in laws who had no issue with Ben moving on, even with a man – and I look forward to the next in the series.

Poetry on Ice by Jesse H Reign (Totally Pucked #1)

RATING: ⟫ 5/5

BLURB:I can’t tell if we’re fighting…or flirting?

Being traded to the Seattle Vipers has left me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, they’re my team, the team I’ve loved and supported since I was a kid, but on the other hand, he’s here. Him. Ant Decker. Infamous NHL bad boy. Right wing to my left. A man who’s made it his sole purpose in life to be better than me.

Well, the joke’s on him because I’m faster and my stats are better than his.

Not that I’m competing with him. Of course not. I wouldn’t stoop to his level.

He’s the most infuriating person I’ve ever met. A dark, chaotic presence that distracts me.

When we’re not coming to blows on the ice, he tries to provoke me by calling me Princess. And Pretty Boy…and Babygirl.

I hate it. Obviously, I do. It makes me so angry I can hardly see straight.

So why does my body react as if I like it?

REVIEW: ⟫ Oh my goodness, this book!!! I only meant to read one chapter and here I am at 7 am in the morning, not having gone to sleep, just having finished reading. This book was EVERYTHING! Robbie and Ant are antagonistic, argumentative, cute, sexy – the way that Ant talks to Robbie about gave me a heart attack! And the chemistry between them is so off the charts – like, wow!! I think it’s obvious by now that I absolutely adored this book – it was just so brilliant. I enjoyed the hockey, the team-mates, Robbie’s family, Bodie – it was all just chef’s kiss!

Absolutely perfect and I will be re-reading it because I just want to make sure I caught everything! P.S. That tattoo was absolutely perfect and left me grinning like an idiot!
