One Honeymoon, Two Hockey Bros, Three Little Words by Oslo Fox

TITLE: ⟫ One Honeymoon, Two Hockey Bros, Three Little Words
AUTHOR: ⟫ Oslo Fox
RATING:
⟫ 3.5/5

BLURB: ⟫On his Hawaiian honeymoon, a jilted groom wakes up in the arms of his best man.

Ethan Lavallee’s life revolves around two things: hockey and hockey.

When his fiancée leaves him at the altar, his best bro and D-partner, Jean-Luc Bergstrom, whisks him away on what should have been his honeymoon.

Their easy friendship has always been the one relationship he could count on, but suddenly, sharing a bed in a romantic Hawaiian villa has Ethan questioning everything he thought he knew about himself.

As his feelings for Jean-Luc evolve from friendship to something more, Ethan must decide if he’s brave enough to risk their partnership on and off the ice for a chance at real love.

A steamy gay m/m friends-to-lovers dual POV romance novel featuring a double bi-awakening and a Hawaiian honeymoon with only one bed.

REVIEW: ⟫ Talk about oblivious! Ethan didn’t seem to have any idea whatsoever that he was basically married to Jean-Luc – he simply enjoyed doing whatever his D-man partner told him to do! Jean-Luc was a little aggravating – his flirtatious nature was fine, but he lost it when he thought Ethan was doing the same. The lack of communication between the two of them was comical although occasionally irritating – they both made decisions for each other based on assumptions that would have been so easy to sort out. I wasn’t expecting the sub/dom aspect to things, although it was nicely done and fit with the two characters. This was a fun read, albeit occasionally irritating with the miscommuncation, and I enjoyed it.

The Other Half of Me by Aiden Wilde (Straight Friends Fall in Love #1)

TITLE: ⟫ The Other Half of Me
AUTHOR: ⟫ Aiden Wilde

SERIES: ⟫Straight Friends Fall in Love #1
RATING:
⟫ 3.5/5

BLURB: ⟫ MATTY

We hadn’t spoken for years. Then, out of the blue, Chad messages me. He’s getting divorced. He needs to get away.

Did I want to go camping with him again, like we did when we were young? Is he forgetting what happened between us before, why we stopped speaking in the first place?

CHAD

People think I am the straightest of straight guys, the bro-est of the bros.

Kara wanting to divorce me wrecked my heart. I just need to get away, two old friends, the sun on our skin, hiking, fishing, swimming in the river.

But when he reminded me of what happened between us before, I felt new things.

He was always the half other of me, but can he make me whole?

Sometimes, a love comes along that will make you change how the world sees you, and how you see yourself.

THE OTHER HALF OF ME is a steamy, high-quality MM gay romance with a theme of straight guys secretly falling in love, and old friends becoming lovers, with a straight-to-gay / gay-for-you trope.

If you love sexy but emotionally satisfying journeys of romantic self-discovery (some angst), as well as beautiful writing and all the classic romance beats with a happy-ever-after ending (HEA), then this novel is for you.

REVIEW: ⟫ This was a quick, easy read – I haven’t read anything else by the author that I can remember so I went into it with no preconceptions. I must admit, I didn’t like Chad – I didn’t like the fact that he only reached out to Matty because he was getting divorced; I didn’t like the whole frat-boy jock thing that he had going on, and he came across as really conceited, even when he was being self-deprecating. Matty, on the other hand, came across as more than a little beaten down by life – being scared of his sexual orientation during his formative years meant that he wasn’t sure who he was apart from being Dylan’s father. I felt that he was possibly too easy going – Chad basically just asked for anything and Matty gave it over.

Matty’s mother was the ‘bad’ guy with her attitude towards homosexuality and, although she redeemed herself slightly with her love for Dylan, she wasn’t a character I enjoyed reading. I think that I could quite enjoy reading more of this series – I like the gay-for-you trope when it’s handled well so I will look out for more by this author.

The Sin Eater by Onley James (The Watch #2)

TITLE: ⟫ The Sin Eater
AUTHOR: ⟫ Onley James

SERIES: ⟫The Watch #2
RATING:
⟫ 4.5/5

BLURB: ⟫ Waylon Boone is no stranger to danger. As the headmaster of the Watch, an elite school hidden in the desert where the wealthy send their psychopathic children to become the perfect covert operatives, he’s trained killers, spies, and manipulators. But none have ever tested his control quite like Payton Skinner—the most dangerous student to walk through the doors, and the one Boone thought he could tame.

Payton’s obsession with the older man is immediate and all-consuming. Boone may be his teacher, but Payton has his own lessons to impart—lessons in seduction, power, and the art of taming a heart long since closed off to the world. But when a twisted video scandal rocks the school, accusing a trusted handler of betrayal, Boone and Payton are thrust into a high-stakes game of lies and espionage. A hacker threatens to reveal dark secrets, both real and fabricated, and no one knows who to trust.

As the investigation deepens, so does the heat between them, and the closer they get to unraveling the mystery, the harder it is to deny their growing connection. In a place where deception is currency and control is everything, Boone and Payton will have to decide how far they’re willing to go for the truth—and for each other.

The Sin Eater is an action-packed, smoking hot, age gap romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It features an exhausted, burnt-out assassin turned reluctant headmaster of psychopaths and an infuriating, calculating, psychopathic student who have absolutely no business being together but find themselves unable to resist forbidden fruit. As always, you can expect gratuitous violence, very dark humor, more blood than a slaughterhouse, and enough steamy moments to power a ship. This is book two in The Watch series. Each book follows a different couple.

REVIEW: ⟫ The Sin Eater and the Little Monster – man, these two were fun!! I adored the fact that Boone was absolutely head over heels and fighting it, whilst all of his staff members were basically laying bets on when he would give in!

Payton was fascinating – I loved the insight into his brain and how committed he was to Boone. He decided that Boone was the man for him and did everything to make sure it happened. I loved the vulnerability that Boone and Payton showed each other; Boone’s protectiveness made me sigh in longing, and the sex scenes between the two of them were wild!

I loved the underlying plot arc and am fascinated by what is happening at the school – not least because of all of the intrigue going on whilst trying to corral a group of psychopaths just sounds insane! An excellent addition to The Watch series and I can’t wait for more!

Fey Sovereignty by S.Rodman (Fey Lords Book #4)

TITLE: ⟫ Fey Sovereignty
AUTHOR: ⟫ S.Rodman

SERIES: ⟫ Fey Lords #4
RATING:
⟫ 4/5

BLURB: ⟫ Falling in love is not part of my mission.

I’m undercover as the pet of a fey prince.

The fey have conquered Earth. Getting rid of them is impossible, but putting someone on their throne who is more amenable, is not.

Prince Llywelyn Y Mabinogi is very keen on overthrowing his brother, and very welcoming of human help.

He is vain, arrogant, obnoxious. Not too bright. In short, he is the perfect candidate.

So here I am, in the midst of the fey court. Pretending to be his pet so I can see all, hear all. Learn all.

But I’m learning things I never expected.

Such as Llywelyn being not at all what he seems.

I’ve never met someone so lonely. So touch-starved. So needy.

He has terrible screaming nightmares about someone called Iestyn.

So many secrets I need to uncover. But some things are becoming clear.

Years as a Special Agent haven’t totally frozen my heart.

And being a prince doesn’t save you.

Fey Sovereignty is a sizzling gay romance containing enemies to lovers, forced proximity, only one bed, undercover, a redemption arc, ‘he needs me’, and a secret relationship.

Happily ever after is guaranteed.

Each book in the Fey Lords series follows a different couple. This means each book can be enjoyed as a standalone. However, this book redeems a villain from the previous books, so will be more fun if the other books have been read (Especially Fey Regency).

REVIEW: ⟫ I wasn’t sure how S Rodman was going to redeem Llewelyn so was quite intrigued before I began reading this book. It takes you instantly into the action – a secret agent has accepted a new mission as the pet of Llewelyn, with a plan to usurp the throne and get the Fey out of power. It should have been a simple task for Ethan, but from the very beginning Llewelyn didn’t meet his expectations.

It was interesting learning more about the rules and regulations that rule Fey society, although some of them are incredibly barbaric. I was fascinated by Llewelyn’s secret and the way he behaved with Ethan. It was truly heartbreaking learning his ‘romantic’ history and how he had been used and abused – no wonder it messed with Ethan’s perceptions of him. This was a story about finding someone who accepts all of you and Llewelyn has definitely earned his happily ever after. I really wasn’t sure how they were going to get there in the end – things seemed impossible, with the heartbreaking disconnect between Llewelyn and his brothers, spies within court and Ethan’s agency hovering in a menacing fashion. I really enjoyed how Rodman managed to get these two their happily ever after – it made my little romantic heart sigh with happiness!

Forever Rebel by Garrett Leigh (Rebel Kings)

TITLE: ⟫ Forever Rebel
AUTHOR: ⟫ Garrett Leigh

SERIES: ⟫Rebel Kings – The Long Goodbye
RATING:
⟫ 5/5

BLURB: ⟫ Forever Rebel – The Long Goodbye

It began with one smouldering look across a crowded bar.

The lonely president of the Rebel Kings MC haunted by a forbidden desire for his sergeant-at-arms. An assassin hiding in an accountant’s skin—deadly, cold, and untouched by love.

It ends with soulmates and a love worth living for.

They’re back, one last time.
The beginning of The Long Goodbye.

“We ride out for family to the end.”

– Cam, Saint, and Alexei (MMM)
– Embry and Mateo (MM)
– Rubi and River (MM)
– Decoy and Folk (MM)
– Locke, Nash, and Orla (MMF)
– Ranger and Viktor (MM)

Hurt/comfort, found family, brotherhood, and the glorious happy ending these boys deserve.

REVIEW: ⟫ I finished reading this last night and gave myself time to sit with my feelings. And I had so many feelings – I hadn’t realise just how difficult it was going to be to say a final goodbye to the Rebel Kings – Cam, Saint, Rubi – they have been living rent-free in my head for so long, it’s going to be weird to not be thinking about what happens for them next.

This is the wrap-up that we all needed and there is no way you could read this without having followed the series – you’d get lost in the first chapter. We get to spend time with so many of the amazing men and women in the series, learning motivations, what may have been going on in the background of ‘bigger’ events, thoughts and feelings of characters that are ‘quieter’ – it was like being given a behind the scenes look at so many things.

This isn’t a happily ever after because that implies that life is going to be a breeze from now on – instead, it’s a slice of life where we get to see our favourite characters find peace, love and acceptance, and as such it touched my heart in ways I didn’t expect.

It’s been an entertaining, occasionally gut-wrenching, painful, loving, fabulous ride and I truly feel that Garrett Leigh did the Rebel Kings proud with this final instalment. If you’ve been ‘riding’ with the club since the beginning, this book is a must for you – and if you haven’t, what have you been doing? Go see where Cam meets the Accountant and fall into this amazing world!

Off Limits by Willow Dixon (Legacy Mechanics #4)

TITLE: ⟫ Off Limits
AUTHOR: ⟫ Willow Dixon

SERIES: ⟫ Legacy Mechanics #4
RATING:
⟫ 4.5/5

BLURB: ⟫ Asa

For eight years I’ve lived in the shadow of my golden child stepbrother. Dex is everything our parents want in a son, and I’m the weirdo who can’t seem to get his life together.

After getting renovicted from my apartment, I’m forced to ask Dex for help. He agrees to let me stay with him while I find a new place, but neither of us is happy about it. Then I accidentally discover that my perfect stepbrother has an online side gig, and I learn how lucrative it can be.

Working together is supposed to be a way to make some extra cash, but it’s impossible to keep things in the business zone when I start to realize that maybe Dex is just as misunderstood and lonely as me.

Dex
The only downside to moving home after college is that I can’t avoid my stepbrother anymore. Asa is one of the most aggravating people I’ve ever met, and he’s spent the last eight years letting me know exactly what he thinks of me.

After agreeing to let him stay with me so he doesn’t end up homeless, he accidentally finds out about my online job. No one else knows my secret, but instead of using it against me, he suggests we work together as a solution to his money problems and my desire to get him out of my apartment as quickly as possible.

I already know this is going to be messy, but I’m not prepared for how difficult it is to keep our arrangement impersonal. And the more I learn about my closed-off stepbrother, the more I realize that maybe we aren’t so different after all.

Asa and Dex’s story is an opposites attract stepbrother romance between a jock and a nerd who can’t keep things in the business zone. You can expect dislike to friends to lovers, hurt/comfort, found family, online spicy times, reluctant roommates, some snark, lots of heat, and all the feels as these two men realize that sometimes the person you need is someone you shouldn’t want. It is book 4 in my Legacy Mechanics series but can be read as a standalone.

REVIEW: ⟫ This book was so much more than I expected and I really, really enjoyed it. Asa is demisexual (or seems to be) and his only experience has been with the one-off with his stepbrother four years ago. His parents don’t care, his mother and stepfather use him as a babysitter and errand boy, and he absolutely detests his perfect stepbrother. Until he’s in a real bind and Dex comes through for him.

Dex gives the appearance of having everything, but it’s only now that he’s finished college and is living alone that he is becoming his true, authentic self. He can’t see his stepbrother made homeless, so allows Asa to move in without considering the consequences. When Asa catches him camming accidentally, it opens the way for the two of them to rediscover who the other is, realise that the hatred they felt for each other when they were younger was a result of the situation, and also realise that the one person meant for them might just be right in front of their eyes.

The camming was hot but it was actually the way that these two communicated, tried so hard for each other and how they became each other’s safe haven that really made this book for me. I quite possibly enjoyed this the most of the legacy mechanics series and I am looking forward to the author’s Silvercrest U series that they are currently working on

Lustful Nights by Ashley Rayne (Peaches Book #1)

TITLE: ⟫ Lustful Nights
AUTHOR: ⟫ Ashley Rayne

SERIES: ⟫Peaches Book #1
RATING:
⟫ 3.5/5

BLURB: ⟫ Lennox

A string of bad boyfriends has me questioning my taste in men.

They’re either jealous of my job as a dancer at a strip club, or they use it as an opportunity to try hooking up with my friends. It also doesn’t help that my big brother is the definition of overprotective, meaning nobody is ever good enough for me.

When I notice his best friend—his very straight, very good-looking best friend—at the club where I work more than once, I wonder if maybe he’s not as out of my reach as I once thought he was.

Jensen

My life is pretty simple, which is totally fine with me. I work remotely, spend time with my best friend, Nick, and ride my motorcycle. I’ve had a few girlfriends here and there, but nobody recently, and definitely not anyone serious.

When my boss has his bachelor party at a local all-male strip club, I know I have to make an appearance. Then I notice a fit body attached to a familiar face. I wasn’t expecting to see my best friend’s brother dancing onstage, but I also wasn’t prepared for the feelings watching him perform brought out in me. But even if I wanted to explore anything with Lennox, am I willing to risk my years-long friendship for him?

Lustful Nights is the first book in the Peaches series about a group of friends who work at a strip club. You can expect a confident bi-awakening, a virgin MC falling for his brother’s best friend, and game nights with strip poker.

REVIEW: ⟫ I don’t think I’ve read very much from this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Lennox is very confident – he’s come into his own now that he’s dancing at a strip club, following his calling educationally and just generally feeling like his own person. Now if only he could find love!

Jensen comes across as a very simple character – he follows his heart and how he feels, and falling for Lennox requires only a mild shift in his attitude as he’s only ever been with women before. I liked the fact that these two communicated so well with each other – they asked questions in a fun way of getting to know each other, and even when they were nervous they didn’t shy away from the difficult conversations.

The conflict between them and Nick was handled relatively respectfully – I did find Nick to be more than a little overbearing, although I understand that Lennox’s taste in the past has been less than stellar. There were quite a few sex scenes, which (for me) didn’t actually add much to the story. I did like the fact that both Lennox andd Jensen were switches and so there wasn’t as much emphasis on Lennon losing his virginity as to be obnoxious. This was a nice example of falling for your brother’s best friend and I quite enjoyed reading it.

I received an ARC through Indie Author Creative.

His Wicked Wants by Leighton Greene (West Coast Mobsters #6)

TITLE: ⟫ His Wicked Wants
AUTHOR: ⟫ Leighton Greene

SERIES: ⟫ West Coast Mobsters #6
RATING:
⟫ 5/5

BLURB: ⟫ For a man who takes what he wants, desiring the one thing he can’t have is torture.

Nero Andretti is used to getting his way. Cold, calculating, and criminally seductive, he clawed his way up from the back streets of Rome to the edge of the Castellani crime family’s inner circle.

No one can resist him.

No one except Gabriel Carstairs.

Straight-laced, stubborn, and infuriatingly principled, landscape architect Gabriel refuses to bow to Nero’s demands or succumb to his seduction. But each heated encounter leaves Nero more obsessed, more determined to conquer the man who looks at him with equal parts defiance and desire.

Gabriel fled East Coast shadows for California sunshine, hoping to bury his past. The last thing he needs is a tattooed Italian mobster stalking him with promises of pleasure. And as their arguments intensify, so does their dangerous attraction.

But when Gabriel needs a favor, he’s forced to turn to the last person he wants to trust. Nero is only too happy to offer his protection, for a price that has nothing to do with money and everything to do with surrender…

Because some wants are too wicked to deny.

His Wicked Wants is the final book in the West Coast Mobsters series, and delivers a finale packed with romance, heat, and the transformative power of found Family.

***

Follow the men of the Los Angeles underworld in this page-turning romantic suspense series as they find love, danger and mystery in the most unexpected places.

Each book in West Coast Mobsters tells the love story of a different couple who find their happy ending, as well as a resolution to the mystery they’re investigating, but there are cliffhangers to the wider suspense plot for the series.

REVIEW: ⟫ So I might be sobbing just a little upon realising that this is the last of the West Coast Mobsters – that means no more Julian, no more Sandro with his crooked grin, no more Bricker – like, how am I meant to go on without them?

However, Leighton Greene gave these guys the most insane farewell, with a story full of twists and turns, an amazing set of male leads and so much excitement. I was on the edge of my seat for Roxie’s wedding and for good reason – that was a wedding that few will forget. We got the answers to many, many questions and there were a number of people who got their just desserts.

Gabriel was a fabulous foil to Nero – strong, stubborn, loyal and faithful, with a rock-solid moral code that somehow made space for Nero. Nero needed a hug from an early age, as well as a slap for how infuriating he was throughout the story. I loved Ray and Linda (who wouldn’t?!) and have basically spent the last two days feeling like I was mainlining some of the best Mob content available. Obviously, I’m going back to the first book and doing a full re-read, as well as grabbing the extended epilogue offered by the author because I am really not ready to say goodbye to these people.

If you love a mafia romance, with excellent, strong storylines that satisfy, sex scenes that are hotter than a sauna, and men that love so deeply and utterly, get yourself this series – you won’t regret it.

I received an ARC from the author.
